Inevitable...

No more crib...

She is a big girl now.

This shouldn't make me sad, right?

Girly

We have many pet names for Alyssa. Among them are Girly, Lulu, Lissy, Peanut, Little, Lulubelle, etc. Today, I called her Cutie Pie. She said, "No, me Girly Davis!" I THINK she was just being silly, as I've heard her tell people her name many times. But she was insistant!

Tonight, when I put her to bed, she said, "I love you, Mommy Davis." I guess that IS my name, though!

fashion show

This afternoon, a few too many minutes passed in silence. So I went in search of Alyssa Jane. I found her like this.

Our model is showcasing 3 swimming suits from our summer line.
So chic.

McCutie

We passed a McDonald's tonight, and Alyssa said, "Mommy, McDonald's!"
Caden said to her, "Lissy, you have a good memory! You even know some things I don't know! I love you! You're cute! You're a cool girl!" Honestly, that is what he said. I agree that it was a bit much for acknowledgement of a McDonalds, but I guess he was moved.
Right then, we parked, got out of the van, and I pulled Alyssa out. I shut the door and looking at our reflection in the window, she said "I cute!" Then she cocked her head and smirked at her reflection and said "I cute!"
Amazing what compliments do.

3 going on 30

In the car after dinner this evening, Caden let out a long sigh and said, "Mom, you were quiet tonight."

Ditto

Tonight at dinner, Caden prayed for our food, and then out of the blue, he said, "and thanks that mommy has make-up!" Perhaps he was remembering my stark lack of make-up from yesterday, and praising his maker that I looked better today, but regardless, I thought, "amen to that!"

Potty training day

On Friday, we started potty training for Alyssa. Here is our blanket entertainment in the kitchen! We basically stayed in the kitchen all day...trying to avoid accidents on the carpet!

She did pretty well - went in the potty several times. Also several accidents...but its just the first day. Here are a couple of the dolls that are learning right now as well.

I gave her a lot to drink!
