Day 2: Almost there

Day 3: master bath

Here is the master bath, looking into the closet.  Flooring in. I was pleasantly suprised with the tile. I'd been fearing that I'd picked tile that looked more white than this!  To the left is the tub and shower - you can sort of see the tub in the reflection.

Day 4: Kitchen! (before flooring)

The kids and I stopped after church one day and the bushes were in! It was so much fun to walk the front walk for the first time and see some green!

Caden decided the other day that you cannot be both cool and cute. I asked him which he is (and told him I think he's definitely both). He acquiesed that he is cute on the inside and cool and tough on the outside. So true of so many boys, isn't it? I'm going to try to remember this in a couple years, that when the cute little boy is getting harder to see, that he's still in there somewhere.

Day 6: the route to the guest room

Ok - I said I'd post pictures of areas that are done, but I realized that I don't have pictures of the house carpeted. This is the view you'll see when heading to your room for the night. Up the steps to the right. :)

Day 7: Back yard from master bedroom

This one was taken the first week of April, right after the sod went down. This week, I'll be posting pictures of things that are all done. :)

Day 8: another favorite feature

I'm very excited to have a fire place with some built-in bookcases on either side of it!

Day 9: Can't wait

One of the things I'm most looking forward to in this house...is my tub. We'll have to get some curtains up pretty quickly! The doorway to the right is into the closet.

Day 10: 1st look at cabinets

Due to some complaints, I've skipped forward to a picture with walls. Here was my first look at my kitchen cabinets, taken about the 3rd week in March. Through the doorway is the dining room. Pretty, aren't they?

Day 11: Upstairs landing

This picture at the top of the steps, is looking over the open area to the 1st floor, and into Alyssa's room. You can see through to the guest room on the left as well.

Day 12: Back

Our builder took this one, and sent it to us in March to make sure all the windows were placed correctly, since we ordered 2 additional windows and 1 additional door in the basement.

Bottom from left: eventual bedroom, family room area for single door and double windows, shop area for double doors. By the way, I've decided to reverse the days, so we're on a countdown to closing instead of counting up. :)

Day 13: inside the front door!

Day 14: moving fast!

And by the next week, when we stopped by, the roof was on, as well as the walls!

Day 15: Framing!

Much of the frame arrived ready made, so it went up in about a week!

Day 16: Footprint

Countdown

Our waiting period is almost over. We've prayed and waited and prayed and stressed and trusted and waited and prayed some more. And God had the timing all neatly arranged all along. We moved out of our PA house a few weeks ago, and we'll be moving into our new house here in a couple of weeks. This has been a pretty long year, and we'll ready to move out of the 'hotel' as the kids call it. Our apartment has really been fine, but we're ready to settle in.

To celebrate the 'home stretch', I'll be posting a picture of the house being built each day until we move in! Thank you, Lord for your faithfulness all along the road to our new front door.
