Addy Party

We recently attended an"Addy, an American Girl" themed party. Guests were to dress up as boys, since, Addy and her mom dressed in disguise when escaping slavery.  We arrived at the 'safe house', where only candles lit the house so the runaways would not be detected.  Food was served like what they ate in the book, and we talked about life on the plantation and how hard it was.  Then the girls got to put on pajamas and 'sleep' on mattresses for the first time in their lives. Very fun.

  Alyssa was a bit nervous that the other girls would forget to wear boys clothes and she'd be the only one. So she was relieved when we arrived to see the others looking boyish too. :)
