Caden said to Shann the other night, "Daddy, when I was a little baby, I used to whine!"
We laughed hysterically being that Caden is currently in his prime in regards to whining.
Hmm. Is this how unclearly we all see ourselves? Frightening.

Missing
Yesterday, we attended a picnic for Merck. As you can imagine, there were a LOT of people in attendance. They had a station where you could tie dye t-shirts. So Shann and I decided to take turns watching the kids while we each did our shirts. I was half-way through mine and Alyssa's, when Shann came up to me and said, "I don't want to alarm you, but I lost our daughter." You can imagine the shot of adrenaline and fear that shot through my heart. Yes, ok, since you said that, I won't be alarmed!
We spent several minutes searching our immediate area, and she was nowhere. (Mind you, I'm dripping with bright colors everywhere I go from the dye). So we widened the search. We were on a huge lawn, with several kid's activities, a DJ stand, food stands, etc. A few minutes later, we concluded that she was not even anywhere in this area. Shann walked around the corner, and I was about to have the DJ announce that she was missing, when he came walking up holding her. She had gotten probably 25 yards past the corner, and was strolling along enjoying the day - totally oblivious that we were not near, and of course oblivious to any danger of being taken by the hundreds of people around her. She did this several times yesterday - starting off on her own adventure with no thought to us. And she wasn't too pleased to not be allowed to explore independently.
If the Lord closes the door on something I'm wanting to do, I wonder how much I struggle and fight Him, when I have no idea what he has just saved me from.
Questions
Yesterday we were riding in the car, and I had to make several phone calls. Caden got a bit tired of this, and finally said, "Mom, could you get off the phone? I have a question." A moment later, when I was finished, I said, "Ok buddy, whats your question?" He sighed and said, "there are so many questions..."
He asked me the other day if he could ask God questions when he gets to heaven. I'd love to see the patience and wisdom of God answering some of Caden's questions! :) Lord, grant me a bit of that today please!

Heaven
Caden has lately been very interested in heaven and the rapture.
"Will we be dead when we meet God in the air?"
"Can I have bear with me in heaven?"
"How big are God's arms?"
"Can He hold all of us at once?"
"Can we take our house?"
"How is he going to get us up there?"
Some of his questions I don't know how to answer. We talk about how great heaven will be, how there will be no more crying and no more booboos. How God will snuggle with us. I want to answer accurately, but I also don't want to scare him. Anyone have advice on explaining the great unknown to a 3 year old?

Towel babies
Finally
Ok, so I have been blogless for a long time. Not that this makes me feel unwhole, but more 'not with it'. And mostly battered by my sister for not having one. Thats not true (the battery is true) - I do actually have a blog, but I just can't access it. Yes, its that bad. Its was a cute one, too, called Capture You. It decided to lock me out - or rather I could never remember my password or something foolish like that.
So here I am, a new 'with it' woman. Now to figure out how to post pictures...
