This morning, the kids and I read about John the Baptist. They were pretty impressed and disgusted that he ate locusts (eww!) and wild honey. We discussed how he must've treated his bee stings, because as Caden pointed out, he didn't even have any baking soda! He was very brave indeed. Then we talked about how he spoke to people about their sins, and baptized them, preparing the way for Jesus.
So Caden says, "Why would people listen to a guy that ate locusts? Its not like he was Justin Bieber or anything!" I think my jaw dropped.
How does my 7 year-old son know who this singer is, and how, I must ask, does he know that we're supposed to think Justin Beiber is cool? I'm so embarassed that Justin was used as a benchmark for coolness in our home. Ugh.

The other night Josh said something to Landon about never saying never and Landon breaks into song singing "Never Say Never...." which I only know to be a Justin Beiber song by the commercials for his movie. I was equally as horrified. I don't even listen to the regular radio when he is in the car!! And then of course I teased him that he had Beiber Fever-to which he cried. :) Kids. Hang in there, Jess
