The Gorgeous Summer Palace

Bankruptsy rock...the official who found this rock spent all of his money trying to move it to the summer palace. He ran out of money on the way, so it laid along the road until someone with more money came along. If you can't tell, below, Shann is crying over his wallet.

Named "Long Corridor"...this walkway is in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the most amount of paintings - 13, 000 of them!
So China has a lot of people. Here were 10-20 people shoulder to shoulder planting a flower bed. We saw this sort of scene many places. For instance, 6 people behind the counter at a little Starbucks, hundreds of employees working in the grocery store, etc. Hey, if you've got the people...
Here at the Summer Palace, An emperess held an emporer (her young nephew) captive in a court yard for 10 years, so that she could rule china.
Buddhist temple where the emporer would go to pray for good harvest.

We took our own little boat out on this lake. The Emporer and Emperess would stand on the platform of this building, watching the Chinese navy do excercises on this lake.

A little Tai Chi
